DESCRIPTION

KedarKantha Trek is a classic winter trek for the trekkers. KedarKantha is a beautiful ridge peak situated in the Tons river valley of the Garhwal Himalayas Uttarakhand. It is accessible anytime of the year. This trek gives you ample time to soak in the flora and fauna and passes through the protected area of Govind National Park. You will rewarded with the views of Ranglana peak, Kalanag peak, Banderpooch peak and Swargarohini peak after reaching the top at an altitude of 3850 meters. The cycling trek to Mori from Sankri passes through some beautiful sceneries along the Tons River. The KedarKantha trek provides a great opportunity to view the scenic beauty and feel the experience of the life of remote villages of Uttarakhand Himalayas.

KedarKantha passes through the beautiful pine forests and meadows covered with snow in winters. The trek starts with a crunchy walk on a carpet of brown leaves in a pine forest and gives you natural beautiful views. After reaching on the top you can see the Garhwal Himalayan Mountains kissing the morning sky with their snow-clad peaks. This trek offers you the experience a snowfall, beautiful views of snow-capped and camp in snow and this trek introduce people to trekking on snow. The trail will switch from walking on soil to walking on snow and goes through the rich forests, snow laden trail with patches of green meadow.

This trek gives you the unsurpassed beauty, magnificent views of charming villages, meadows, snow paths, dramatic landscape dotted with lovely lakes, mountains, tranquil rivers and the great Himalayan peaks. The people of these charming villages follow a unique culture and practice. This is a perfect trek for the trekkers who want to see the beauy of snowfall, views of snow-capped and camp in snow with outstanding natural scenes. It will give you all that you want from trekking in snow.

ITINERARY

DAY 01: DEHRADUN – SANKRI (DRIVE 7 – 8 HRS) STAY IN HOTEL / HOME STAY

We start early from Dehradun towards Sankri . The Sharp turns with a few hair pin bends are accompanied by an abrupt change in landscape as we quickly gain elevation. Mussoorie lies at a short distance of 35 km (22 Miles) from Dehradun and rises to in excess of 2,000 meters. We continue our drive inwards and soon are joined by river Yamuna a few kilometers ahead of Kempty Falls. We can take a quick break at Kempty to check out the waterfall which becomes crowded as the day kicks in. We drive further via Damta and Purola to reach the Sankri late Evening . The drive after Purola is through a beautiful forest of pine trees. The change in temperature of the outside breeze can be easily felt as we traverse through the forest. At Mori we come across the river Tons, which happens to be the biggest tributary of Yamuna and is well known for Rafting activities. After This long Journey We will reach Sankri stay in Hotels/ Home Stay

DAY 02: SANKRI (1,950 M) – KEDARKANTHA BASE CAMP (1 HR DRIVE | 5 – 6 HRS TREK ) STAY IN TENT

Post breakfast we start trek towards Juda Talab. The path goes through Saud village and is a gentle climb. A lot of local village women will be seen on the way carrying wood and dried leaves for their cattle. We trek further through pine and oak trees to reach the open field below the summit. This camping site has excellent views and is a highlight of the trek. There are green pastures nearby and the view towards Himachal is unending. We set camp here for the night.

DAY 03: KEDARKANTHA BASE CAMP – KEDARKANTHA PEAK (3,810 M) AND BACK TO CAMP ( 4-5 HRS) STAY IN TENT

Kedarkantha Base camp to Kedarkantha peak (3810 m) and back to camp (4 – 5 hrs trek | 5 km) We start very early post breakfast and try to reach the top to catch a glimpse of the sunrise. We can take our time exploring the area and then head back to the camp.

DAY 04: KEDARKANTHA BASE CAMP – SANKRI – STAY IN HOTEL / HOME STAY

We start post breakfast and head towards Sankri (3-4 hrs hike 8 km | 1 hr drive) Stay In Hotel/ Home Stay

DAY 05: SANKRI – DEHRADUN (7 – 8 HRS DRIVE)

Post breakfast we drive from Sankri to Dehradun. We reach by early evening.

DAY 06:OSLA – TALUKA – SANKRI (TREK 04 HRS | DRIVE 00:45 HOURS)

This will be the final trekking day of your journey as we hike back to Taluka from Osla and then drive our way upto Sankri. Overnight in Hotel.

DAY 07: SANKRI – DEHRADUN (DRIVE 7-8 HOURS)

Our services end as we drive back to Dehradun leaving after breakfast in Sankri.

PRICE INCLUSION

  • Accommodation: All accommodation on the trek will be on twin sharing basis in Tents or Homestays. Any accommodation in a hotel/guest house /hostel (if mentioned in the itinerary and not mentioned in exclusions) will be in a 2-3 star accommodation unless mentioned otherwise.
  • Outdoors Enthusiasts Trek Leader and Guides: A team of an Himalayan Experienced and certified Mountaineer as well as a professional guide, will accompany you for the trek.
  • Services of a Professional Outdoors Team: A team of an Experienced High Altitude Cook, Camp Staff, Porters / Mules will accompany you for all the arrangements on the trek.
  • Meals: All Meals on the Trek are included. We will serve Vegetarian Indian And Western food on the trek which will be cooked by our high altitude chefs. It will be a five meal plan including Morning Tea, Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Dinner. You will be provided with clean mountain water from the streams to drink. You can carry water purification tablets if you deem necessary but we advise otherwise.
  • Trekking and Safety Equipment: All the camping equipment 4 Season Northface, Vango,Blackdiamond Tents, Sleeping bags, Toilet Tents, Dining Tent, Mattresses, and other things will be provided by us and we guarantee the quality. Safety Equipment including Climbing ropes Medical kit, Oxygen Cylinder, Oximeter, Crampons & Gaiters(if required) will be provided by us. We recommend you to bring your own sleeping bags if possible.
  • Permits and Forest Camping Charges: Only for Indian Clients, All the applicable trekking permits, Camping Charges, Forest Entry Fee etc will be paid by us. Foreigners have to pay these charges if not mentioned.

PRICE EXCLUSION

  • GST and Other Taxes: The goods and services tax is not included in the price mentioned with the trek. They will be charged once you add the trek in your cart. They are subjected to change according to government rules of India.
  • Accommodation and Food in Dehradun / Haridwar / Rishikesh Food and stay in Dehradun are not included in the package. You can book your hotels or homestays in Dehradun/ Haridwar/ Rishikesh we can recommend a few good options.
  • Flights and Transportation: Flights or other means of transport is not included in the package. Transportation from home to Dehradun and vice versa and Travel expenses from Dehradun /Haridwar/Rishikesh to Joshimath And Joshimath To Dehradun /Haridwar/Rishikesh is not included in the package. We can arrange a cab for you according to your requirements but you will be liable to pay for the same. Any expenses occurred during the journey are not included in the package cost.
  • Personal Trekking Equipment: Your Rucksack, personal clothing, shoes, trek poles, and other personal trekking gear is not included in this package. You have to bring your own gear according to that weather and difficulty of the trek.
  • Portage of Personal Bags (Offloading): We highly advise you to carry your own burden (your rucksack) but due to any reason if you wish to not carry your rucksack, we can arrange for a porter/mule to carry it. For this service, you will be charged over and above the trek cost. The charges for offloading vary with every trek.
  • Travel Insurance: Travel Insurance is not included in this package. We recommend you to have travel insurance before opting for such adventures.
  • Personal Expenses: Any personal expenses incurred (laundry, Bottled Water, Beverages, Snacks, orders Tea houses or Boarding house, Tips for Guides etc) are not included in the package.
  • Emergency Expenses: Any costs arising out of unforeseen circumstances such as accidents, bad weather, landslides, road conditions and any other circumstances beyond our control are not included in the package.
  • Anything not mentioned in Inclusions of the package.

PAYMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • All payments for the trips, transfers, gears, porterage, etc. should be made in full before the trip starts.
  • Cancellation Policy
  • In the event that you need to cancel your booking due to any avoidable or unavoidable circumstances:
    • We must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive the request in writing.
    • Payment for this trip will not be adjusted towards any future trip(s)
  • Cancellation charges will be as follows
    • >40 Days: Full refund (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for hotel bookings, transport, etc.)
    • 25-40 Days: 70% of trip cost will be refunded (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for hotel bookings, transport, etc.)
    • 25-30 Days: 50% of trip cost will be refunded (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for hotel bookings, transport, etc.)
    • <20 Days: No refund
  • Please Note
    • Written cancellation will be accepted on working days (only). Any cancellation sent on a Sunday or any National Holiday(s), will be considered on the next official working day.
    • In the event of any cancellation(s) after trip commencement, there will be no refunds and any costs incurred due to this cancellation will be borne by you.
