Har-Ki-Dun Trek – 2024, Mar – June & Sep – Dec

In the far western frontier of Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand bordering Himachal Pradesh lies the Govind National Park that covers the watershed valleys of Rupin, Supin, Tons and Yamuna rivers. Har ki dun (3500M) valley runs along the Supin River that leads to the beautiful Mt. Swarga Rohini (6,250m) group of peaks (I, II, III & IV) and Jaundhar Glacier. Har ki dun means Valley of the Gods. The Someshwar dev temples are found in number of villages including one at Osla village with major local communities Jaunsar and Bawar.This place claims a rich unique history, traditional stories and artistic philosophy that is magical.

Trek Highlights:

It is an easy trail crossing wooden bridges, multiple streams, ancient villages rich with history and mythology, unique wooden architectures of temples, thick pine and rhododendron forests, lush green mountain meadows and spectacular views of snow clad mountains, glacier basins make this count among the best and beautiful hiking trails in India .

Presence of Himalayan Juda , bears, deer, colourful Monal (state bird of Uttarakhand) and Snow leopard is noticeable during the trek. Brahma Kamal commonly known as Night blooming Cereus, Queen of the night, its beautiful Lotus like flower blooms late night. In India it is called as Brahma Kamal ( ब्रह्मकमल ) and is treated as a sacred plant.

Locals are known to be using more than hundred species of Himalayan plants for traditional Ayurvedic medicines and other uses. Stars scattered in clear Night skyline forges outline or pattern of animal, mythological person or creature, or an inanimate object makes it dreams que camping location
