Ruinsara Lake Trek(3500M), Mar – Jun & Sep – Nov

Tucked 3,500 meters above sea level, Ruinsara Lake is a beautiful trek through the Govind National Park, which is famous for its wildflowers especially orchids. Known as sacred Lake which lies close to the source of Supin River or Ruinsara gad. Decked with wildflowers and verdant valleys this trek is delight for nature lovers

Trek Highlights:

Ruinsara Tal lies amongst the untouched peaks and from there you can have glorious views of Ruinsara Range, Mt. Black Peak, Bandarpunch, and Swargarohini Peaks. The locals believe that they are the descendants of Kauravas and have built temples in their honour. Polyandry is practised here and is common. According to the legends, this is the route that the eldest Pandava brother, Yudishtra took while heading to Swargarohini, the way to heaven.This is base camp of both Expedition Bali Pass and Dhumdhar Kandi pass.

Path to Ruinsara Lake follows Tons river from Netwar village up through the scenic villages of Gangad, Seema and Osla. A mountaineer’s dream Banderpunch Range has some of the most beautiful forests, snow caped peaks and glaciers, is ideal to spend day at the lake to explore the nearby Banderpunch glacier and the base camp for the climb to Black peak. This glacial blue lake is adorned on the foot of Kalanag Peak or Black Peak about 14 km away from Osla village. Famous for its green grasslands, alpine vegetation, and Rhododendrons Ruinsara Trek provides a great opportunity for trekkers to see the scenic beauty and experience the life of remote villages of Himalayas.
